Scope of the Project
Centres of Excellence is the new scheme launched by the Government of India with an intention to produce multi skilled workforce ,which is required for the industry inside and outside the country. It consists of a cluster of trades viz. Broad Based Basic (BBBT) Modules, Advanced Modules and Specialized Modules. Duration of each BBBT Module is 2 months, 6 months for Advanced Modules and 6 months for specialized Modules.
After the successful completion of the BBBT module training, a trainee can opt any one of the three Advanced Modules. After the successful completion of the BBBT and AM, trainees are to be given implant training in the industries ie. Specialized Modules.
After the completion of BBBT training and AM training ,there will be an All India Trade Test each for BBBT and AM .
For the implementation of CoE, Government of India had launched three different schemes,viz.Upgradation of ITI s in to CoE with Domestic Funding, Vocational Training Improvement Project(VTIP) assisted by World Bank and Public Private Partnership mode.
